Honolulu/Waikiki (Metro Oahu)
Honolulu is the home to the State Capitol and is the spirited focal point of Hawaii. The majority of Oahu’s population resides in the sprawling city of Honolulu—spreading throughout the southeastern shores of Oahu including world famous Waikiki. Honolulu neighborhoods and districts include Aina Haina, Ala Moana, Diamond Head, Downtown, Hawaii Kai, Kahala, Kaimuki, Kaka’ako, Kalihi, Makiki, Manoa, Moanalua, Niu Valley, Nu'uanu, Palama, Palolo Valley, Pauoa, Portlock, Salt Lake, Waialae, Waikiki.
The Windward side offers an alternative scene to Waikiki with its breathtaking ocean views, white sand beaches, and off the beaten path charm. Windward Coast neighborhoods and districts include Hauula,Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Kahuku, Kailua, Kaneohe, Laie, Punaluu.
Central Oahu extends a peek into Oahu’s history. The abundant central valley between Waianae Mountains and Koolau range bring forth reminders of Oahu’s sugar cane and pineapple plantation past. Central Oahu neighborhoods and districts include Mililani District, Royal Kunia District, Wahiawa.
The Leeward Coast is only about an hour away from Waikiki, but it is an area rarely seen by tourists. It is dryer than the Windward Coast and is home to rural towns and less populous beaches. Leeward Coast neighborhoods and districts include Aiea, Ewa, Kapolei, Ko’Olina, Makaha, Makakilo, Nanakuli, Pearl City, Pearlridge, Waianae, Waikele.
North Shore is famous for its big wave surfing during the winter months. NorthShore beaches host premier surfing competitions including the Super Bowl of wave riding, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Some of its famous beaches are Waimea Bay , Ehukai Beach (Banzai Pipeline) and Sunset Beach. North Shore neighborhoods and districts include Haleiwa and Waialua.
